Which bitrate should I pick?

Does converting MP4 to MP3 lose quality?
The audio is decoded from the video and re-encoded to MP3. At 256–320 kbps this is transparent to almost every listener; at 128 kbps you trade a little fidelity for a much smaller file.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion engine is WebAssembly running in your browser. Your video is read from disk, processed on your own CPU, and the MP3 is saved straight back.
Why does the first conversion take longer?
The first run downloads the conversion engine (about 30 MB) and caches it. After that, conversions start instantly for the rest of your session.
